You truly can't understand spice until you get out of western cultured foods. If you want to dip a toe but want to be cautious, this is your spot. If you're experienced with heavily flavored foods with very complex flavors this is your spot. So to sum up what I'm saying, put your dang phone down and come to Royal Nepal. My wife and I live in south Florida, we make our annual pilgrimage to the area to visit family. But I'll be damned if I ever visit and don't come for a meal at Royal Nepal. I love the food, the staff, the feeling of family when I walk in the door. Just please go. From the complimentary Nepalese bread, the Yak Momo, the Chana Chatpat, the curry. I can list 90% of the menu, but if you don't go you won't ever know.

This place is mind blowing. The complexity of flavors and spices are unmatched. Whenever we are in town this is a must stop. We found the place on accident once and moving forward this is always a stop for us while in town

Was in DC and had an insatiable craving for lamb. I ventured to do a yelp search to see if the capital city could help me scratch my itch. Lamb chops weren't an easy find. Found this place and caught and uber. I was a little hesitant when I first walked up and didn't see more than a single table of people inside. Was even more concerned when I realized those people were the employee/employer. Although they were sitting down to lunch, they quickly got up and tended to my needs Food and service were being expectation. Will definitely look up the next time in the area

We found this cozy spot after visiting the DC cherry blossoms. The restaurant gave us some Nepali fried bread with pickled sides and sauce at the beginning which was a delightful treat. We then started with yak momos that were very beautifully presented and tasted great. The meat was juicy and just the right amount of salt. We then ordered a variety of curries ranging from the spicy lamb one to the mutton one to the chicken and yak ones. I really liked how each of the gravies had its own different flavor, and it was nice to try all the different kinds of meats. Service was quite friendly and the price for the quantity food we had was also very good.
